History
Ahold and Delhaize Group announced their merger plans in June 2015. The merger was completed after regulatory clearance in the United States and Europe. The new company, Ahold Delhaize, was listed on Euronext Amsterdam and Euronext Brussels.
Operations
Ahold Delhaize operates in several countries worldwide with a significant presence in the United States and Europe. The company's brands include Food Lion, Hannaford, Giant Food, and Stop & Shop in the United States, and Albert Heijn and Delhaize in Europe.
Corporate Governance
The company is governed by a Board of Directors and an Executive Committee, both of which include members from the former Ahold and Delhaize companies. The Board of Directors is responsible for the overall management of the company, while the Executive Committee is responsible for the company's strategy and operations.
