History

AMC was launched on October 1, 1984, as "American Movie Classics." The channel originally aired classic movies from the 1930s to the 1970s, uncut and without commercials. In 2002, AMC underwent a significant rebranding, shifting its focus from classic films to a broader range of movies and original programming.
