Bernard-Soulier syndrome is a ereditary coagulation disorder marked by a mild decrease in the number of platelets circulating in the blood and abnormally shaped platelets.

Trauma or surgery[edit]

Following trauma and surgery, blood loss may be greater than normal; transfusion may be needed.

Provoked by Aspirin[edit]

The use of aspirin may provoke hemorrhage in people with this condition.
