Institute of Occupational Medicine (IOM) is a research institute that specializes in the study of occupational health and environmental health. Established in 1969, the IOM has been at the forefront of research into the effects of the workplace on health, and the impact of environmental factors on the health of the population.

The Institute of Occupational Medicine was founded in 1969 by the National Coal Board (NCB) in the United Kingdom. The NCB established the IOM to provide research and advisory services in occupational health, particularly in relation to coal mining.
