Analog
Analog refers to a type of signal or information representation that uses continuous changes in physical quantities to convey data. Unlike digital signals, which represent data using discrete binary values (0s and 1s), analog signals are represented by continuous waves, which can vary in amplitude, phase, or frequency. An analog signal is any continuous signal for which the time-varying feature (variable) of the signal is a representation of some other time varying quantity, i.e., analogous to another time varying signal. It differs from a digital signal in that it has a continuous, rather than a discrete, nature. Common examples of analog signals include human speech or the fluctuations in voltage in an electronic circuit.
Applications[edit]
In electronics, analog circuits are used to manage continuous electrical signals. They are essential in devices that need to process real-world data, such as audio and video equipment, where they handle frequencies and amplitudes directly.
