Java House was founded by Kevin Ashley, an American expatriate, who saw an opportunity to introduce a coffee culture in Kenya. The first Java House opened its doors in the Adams Arcade area of Nairobi. Over the years, the brand expanded rapidly, opening multiple outlets across Kenya and later extending its reach to other East African countries such as Uganda and Rwanda.
