History[edit]
Buc-ee's was founded in 1982 by Arch "Beaver" Aplin III and Don Wasek. The first store was opened in Lake Jackson, Texas. The name "Buc-ee's" is a combination of Aplin's childhood nickname, "Beaver," and the name of his pet dog, "Buck."
