St. Luke's University Health Network is a non-profit, regional, fully integrated, nationally recognized network providing services at ten hospitals and more than 200 sites in Lehigh Valley and surrounding Pennsylvania and New Jersey areas.

History[edit]

St. Luke's University Health Network was founded in 1872 as St. Luke's Hospital, a 45-bed hospital in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. It was established by the Reverend William Inglis and the Episcopal Church of the Nativity to provide medical services to the local community. Over the years, the hospital expanded its services and facilities, becoming a leading healthcare provider in the region.

Services[edit]

St. Luke's University Health Network provides a wide range of medical, surgical, and diagnostic services. These include cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, neurology, and pediatrics, among others. The network also offers specialized services such as transplantation medicine, robotic surgery, and trauma care.

Education and Research[edit]

St. Luke's University Health Network is also an academic institution, offering medical education programs in partnership with the Temple University School of Medicine. The network operates the St. Luke's School of Nursing, which is the oldest nursing school in the United States. In addition, St. Luke's conducts research in various medical fields, contributing to advancements in healthcare.

Locations[edit]

The network operates ten hospitals and over 200 healthcare sites, including physician practices, urgent care centers, and pharmacies. The main hospital is located in Bethlehem, with other hospitals in Allentown, Easton, and other locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

St. Luke's University Health Network has received numerous awards and recognitions for its services. It has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best hospitals in the region and the nation.
