Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (CVUHB) is one of the largest National Health Service (NHS) organizations in Wales. It is responsible for providing health and social care services to the population of Cardiff, the capital city of Wales, and the Vale of Glamorgan. The health board operates several hospitals, including the University Hospital of Wales (UHW), which is one of the largest healthcare facilities in the country. CVUHB also manages a wide range of community-based and specialist services, aiming to deliver integrated health care to its population.

The Cardiff and Vale University Health Board was established on October 1, 2009, following the merger of three NHS organizations: Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust, Cardiff Local Health Board, and Vale of Glamorgan Local Health Board. This reorganization was part of a wider reform of the NHS in Wales, intended to improve the coordination and delivery of health services.

CVUHB provides a comprehensive range of health services, including acute care, primary care, community health services, and mental health services. The health board is also a leading center for medical research and education, working closely with Cardiff University's School of Medicine.
