Lizzie Velásquez is an American motivational speaker, author, and anti-bullying activist. She was born on March 13, 1989, in Austin, Texas. Velásquez is known for her inspiring story and her advocacy work, particularly in the areas of bullying prevention and body positivity.

Early life and education[edit]

Lizzie Velásquez was born with a rare congenital disease called Marfanoid–progeroid–lipodystrophy syndrome, which prevents her from accumulating body fat and gaining weight. This condition has also affected her vision, leaving her blind in one eye. Despite these challenges, Velásquez pursued her education with determination. She attended Texas State University, where she studied communication studies.
