Trenbolone enanthate
Overview[edit]

Trenbolone enanthate is a synthetic and injectable anabolic-androgenic steroid (AAS) of the nandrolone group, which is used in veterinary medicine to increase the profitability of livestock by promoting muscle growth in cattle. It is not approved for use in humans.
Chemical Properties[edit]
Trenbolone enanthate is a derivative of nandrolone, differing by the presence of two additional double bonds in the steroid structure. The enanthate ester attached to the 17-beta hydroxyl group prolongs the activity of the drug by slowing the release of the active steroid from the injection site.
Mechanism of Action[edit]
Trenbolone enanthate binds to the androgen receptor with high affinity, which leads to increased protein synthesis and nitrogen retention in muscle tissues. This results in significant muscle growth and strength gains. It also has a strong binding affinity for the glucocorticoid receptor, which may contribute to its anti-catabolic effects.
Pharmacokinetics[edit]
The enanthate ester provides a slow release of trenbolone from the injection site, with a half-life of approximately 7-10 days. This allows for less frequent dosing compared to other forms of trenbolone, such as trenbolone acetate.
Side Effects[edit]
Trenbolone enanthate can cause a range of side effects, including but not limited to:
- Androgenic effects such as acne, hair loss, and increased body hair growth.
- Cardiovascular issues, including increased blood pressure and adverse effects on cholesterol levels.
- Potential negative impact on liver function.
- Suppression of natural testosterone production, which can lead to testicular atrophy and infertility.
Usage in Veterinary Medicine[edit]
In veterinary settings, trenbolone enanthate is used to promote muscle growth and improve feed efficiency in cattle. It is typically administered as an implant under the skin of the ear, where it slowly releases the active compound over time.
Legal Status[edit]
Trenbolone enanthate is not approved for human use and is classified as a controlled substance in many countries. Its use is restricted to veterinary applications, and it is illegal to use or possess for bodybuilding or performance enhancement purposes.
