History

The Journal of Osteopathic Medicine was established in 1901 as the Journal of the American Osteopathic Association. It adopted its current name in 2021 to better reflect its focus on osteopathic medicine.

The journal covers all aspects of osteopathic medicine, including clinical practice, medical education, research, and health policy. It publishes original research articles, review articles, case reports, and commentaries.

The Journal of Osteopathic Medicine is abstracted and indexed in PubMed, MEDLINE, Scopus, and the Science Citation Index Expanded. According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2019 impact factor of 2.75.
