UnitedHealth Group Incorporated is an American for-profit managed health care company based in Minnetonka, Minnesota. It offers health care products and insurance services. UnitedHealth Group is the largest healthcare company in the world by revenue, with 2022 revenue of $324.2 billion. It is also the largest insurance company by net premiums.

UnitedHealth Group was founded in 1977 as UnitedHealthCare Corporation. It was created to manage the newly formed Physicians Health Plan of Minnesota. In 1988, the company reorganized and became United HealthCare Corporation, and in 1998, it adopted the name UnitedHealth Group.

UnitedHealth Group operates through two distinct platforms: UnitedHealthcare, which provides health care coverage and benefits services, and Optum, which provides information and technology-enabled health services.
