UHC2030

UHC2030 is a global movement that aims to strengthen the global health system and accelerate progress towards universal health coverage (UHC). It was established in 2016 as a successor to the International Health Partnership (IHP+), and is co-convened by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Bank.

Overview

UHC2030 provides a multi-stakeholder platform that promotes collaborative working in countries and globally on health systems strengthening (HSS). It advocates for increased political commitment to UHC and facilitates accountability and knowledge sharing.

Objectives

The main objectives of UHC2030 are to:

  • Promote and sustain political commitment for universal health coverage
  • Facilitate multi-stakeholder dialogue and promote collaboration on health systems strengthening at all levels
  • Monitor progress and promote mutual accountability
  • Share knowledge and learning across countries and constituencies

Partners

UHC2030 partners include countries, bilateral and multilateral agencies, civil society organizations, private sector entities, and academic and research institutions. Key partners include the World Health Organization, the World Bank, Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

UHC2030 Framework

The UHC2030 framework is based on the principles of equity, quality, and financial risk protection. It emphasizes the importance of resilient and responsive health systems, and the need for a multi-sectoral approach to health.
