Fort Washington, Pennsylvania
Fort Washington is an unincorporated community in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located approximately 17 miles north of Philadelphia.
History[edit]
Fort Washington played a significant role during the American Revolutionary War. It was the site of the Battle of White Marsh, which took place in December 1777. The area served as a temporary encampment for George Washington's Continental Army after the Battle of Germantown.
Geography[edit]
Fort Washington is situated in the southeastern part of Pennsylvania, within the Delaware Valley. The community is part of the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
