Éric Fombonne is a French-Canadian psychiatrist and epidemiologist known for his extensive research in the field of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). He has contributed significantly to the understanding of the prevalence, causes, and treatment of autism.

Éric Fombonne was born in France. He completed his medical degree at the University of Paris, where he also earned a Ph.D. in epidemiology. His early work focused on child psychiatry and developmental disorders.
