The Jacksonville Jaguars are a professional American football team based in Jacksonville, Florida. The Jaguars compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league's American Football Conference (AFC) South division. The team plays its home games at TIAA Bank Field.
History
The Jacksonville Jaguars were established as an expansion team in 1993, and they began play in the NFL in 1995. The team was founded by Wayne Weaver, who served as the majority owner until 2011 when he sold the team to Shahid Khan.
Team Achievements
The Jaguars have won four division championships, all in the AFC South, in the years 1998, 1999, 2017, and 2022. They have made eight playoff appearances, with their most successful seasons being in 1996 and 1999 when they reached the AFC Championship Game.
Stadium
The Jaguars play their home games at TIAA Bank Field, which has been their home since the team's inception. The stadium is located in downtown Jacksonville and has a seating capacity of approximately 67,814.
Mascot
The team's mascot is Jaxson de Ville, a popular figure at Jaguars games known for his energetic and entertaining antics.
