Pike County, Pennsylvania

Pike County, Pennsylvania is a county located in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. As of the 2020 census, the population was 58,535. The county seat is Milford. The county was created on March 26, 1814, from part of Wayne County and named for Zebulon Pike, an explorer and military officer.

Geography[edit]

Pike County is part of the Pocono Mountains region. It is bordered by Wayne County to the north, Monroe County to the west, and Sussex County, New Jersey to the east. The Delaware River forms the eastern boundary of the county, separating it from New Jersey.

Demographics[edit]

As of the 2020 census, the racial makeup of the county was 89.3% White, 4.5% African American, 0.3% Native American, 1.1% Asian, and 4.8% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 10.2% of the population.

Pike County is governed by a board of three county commissioners. The county is part of the 10th Congressional District.
