Greene County is a county located in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. As of the 2020 census, the population was 35,254. The county seat is Waynesburg. The county was created on February 9, 1796, from part of Washington County and named for Nathanael Greene, a major general in the American Revolutionary War.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 578 square miles (1,500 km²), of which 576 square miles (1,490 km²) is land and 2.2 square miles (5.7 km²) (0.4%) is water.
