Mark Greene is a fictional character from the American television series ER, which aired on NBC from 1994 to 2009. The character was portrayed by actor Anthony Edwards. Dr. Greene was a central figure in the series and one of the original characters, appearing in the first eight seasons.

Dr. Mark Greene was born in 1964 and grew up in San Diego, California. He attended medical school at the University of California, San Francisco and completed his residency in emergency medicine at County General Hospital, the fictional hospital where ER is set.
