Liev Schreiber

American actor, director, screenwriter, and producer
Isaac Liev Schreiber (born October 4, 1967) is an American actor, director, screenwriter, and producer. Known for his work in independent films and mainstream Hollywood movies, Schreiber has also made significant contributions to the world of theater and television.
Early life[edit]
Schreiber was born in San Francisco, California, to Heather Milgram, a painter, and Tell Schreiber, a stage actor and director. He was raised in a bohemian household in New York City. Schreiber attended Friends Seminary and later graduated from Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts. He also studied at the Yale School of Drama and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.
Career[edit]
Film[edit]
Schreiber's film career began in the mid-1990s with roles in independent films. He gained recognition for his role in the Scream trilogy (1996–2000) as Cotton Weary. He has since appeared in a variety of films, including The Sum of All Fears (2002), The Manchurian Candidate (2004), X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), and Spotlight (2015).
Television[edit]
Schreiber is also known for his work on television. He starred as the title character in the Showtime series Ray Donovan (2013–2020), for which he received multiple Primetime Emmy Award nominations. He has also narrated numerous documentaries, including the HBO series Hard Knocks and 24/7.
Theater[edit]
Schreiber has a strong presence in the theater world, having performed in numerous Broadway productions. He won a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his role in Glengarry Glen Ross in 2005. Other notable stage performances include A View from the Bridge and Talk Radio.
Personal life[edit]
Schreiber was in a relationship with actress Naomi Watts from 2005 to 2016. The couple has two children together. His half-brother, Pablo Schreiber, is also an actor.
