Ondrej Rigo (born 1955) is a Slovak serial killer and necrophile who committed a series of murders in the early 1990s. He is considered one of the most notorious criminals in Slovak history.

Early Life[edit]

Ondrej Rigo was born in 1955 in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. Little is known about his early life, but it is reported that he had a troubled childhood and exhibited signs of antisocial behavior from a young age.

Criminal Activities[edit]

Rigo's criminal activities began in the early 1990s. He targeted women and children, often breaking into their homes at night. His modus operandi involved strangling his victims and then engaging in necrophilic acts. Rigo's crimes were characterized by their brutality and the lack of any apparent motive beyond sexual gratification.

Arrest and Trial[edit]

Ondrej Rigo was arrested in 1992 after a series of murders in Bratislava and other European cities, including Munich and Amsterdam. The police were able to link him to the crimes through forensic evidence, including fingerprints and DNA.

During his trial, Rigo showed no remorse for his actions. He was found guilty of multiple counts of murder and was sentenced to life imprisonment. His case received widespread media attention and led to significant public outrage.

Imprisonment[edit]

Rigo is currently serving his life sentence in a high-security prison in Slovakia. He remains a subject of study for criminologists and psychologists due to the extreme nature of his crimes and his psychological profile.

Legacy[edit]

Ondrej Rigo's case has had a lasting impact on Slovak society. It led to changes in law enforcement practices and increased awareness of the dangers posed by serial offenders. His story has been the subject of several books and documentaries.
