Michael T. Osterholm is an American epidemiologist, public health scientist, and a biosecurity and infectious disease expert. Osterholm is the director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP) at the University of Minnesota, where he is also a Regents Professor, McKnight Presidential Endowed Chair in Public Health, and the director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy. He has been a prominent figure in the field of public health, particularly in the areas of infectious diseases and pandemic preparedness.

Michael Osterholm was born in Iowa, United States. He completed his undergraduate studies at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, and later earned his Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in environmental health and epidemiology from the University of Minnesota. Career
