San Miguel Beer

San Miguel Beer is a Filipino beer brand produced by San Miguel Brewery, a subsidiary of San Miguel Corporation. Established in 1890 by the original San Miguel Brewery (then known as La Fábrica de Cerveza de San Miguel), it is the largest selling beer in the Philippines and Hong Kong. It is known in Chinese as 生力啤酒.

History

San Miguel Brewery was established in 1890 in the Philippines. The first product of the brewery was San Miguel Beer, which became the first beer to be produced in Southeast Asia. The beer was named after the district of San Miguel in Manila, where the brewery was located. The brewery was incorporated in 1913 and was renamed San Miguel Corporation (SMC) in 1963.

Products

San Miguel Beer comes in several varieties: San Miguel Pale Pilsen, San Miguel Premium All-Malt Beer, San Miguel Super Dry, San Miguel Flavored Beer, and San Miguel Zero. Each variety has its own unique taste and alcohol content. San Miguel Pale Pilsen is the flagship product of San Miguel Brewery.

Market

San Miguel Beer is the largest selling beer in the Philippines, with a market share of more than 95%. It is also exported to over 40 countries worldwide. In Hong Kong, it is the top-selling beer with a market share of 58%.

Awards

San Miguel Beer has won numerous awards at international beer competitions. It won the Gold Quality Label award at the Monde Selection International Quality Institute in 2018.
