Price Rite

Price Rite is an American chain of limited-assortment supermarkets found in Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Virginia. The company is a subsidiary of Wakefern Food Corporation, which is the largest supermarket cooperative in the United States.

History[edit]

Price Rite was established in 1995 by the Wakefern Food Corporation. The company was created to provide a high-quality, low-cost alternative to other grocery stores. The first Price Rite store was opened in West Springfield, Massachusetts. Since then, the company has expanded to include over 60 stores across nine states.

Business Model[edit]

Price Rite operates on a limited-assortment supermarket model. This means that the company carries a select range of items, focusing on staple products and discount items. This model allows Price Rite to keep costs low and pass savings onto customers. The company also emphasizes efficiency and simplicity in its store design and operations.

Products and Services[edit]

Price Rite offers a range of products including fresh produce, meat and poultry, dairy products, and bakery items. The company also carries a selection of non-food items such as household cleaning products and health and beauty aids. In addition to its own private label products, Price Rite also carries national brand items.

Community Involvement[edit]

Price Rite is known for its community involvement. The company regularly participates in local events and supports community organizations. In particular, Price Rite has a strong commitment to fighting hunger and regularly partners with local food banks and hunger-relief organizations.
