Critical Care (journal)

Critical Care is a peer-reviewed medical journal that covers research in the field of intensive care medicine. The journal publishes articles on a broad range of topics related to critical care, including clinical trials, epidemiology, health services and outcomes research, and model development.

History

The journal was established in 1997. It is published by BioMed Central, a publisher of open access journals. The editor-in-chief is Jean-Louis Vincent, a professor of intensive care at the University of Brussels.

Content

Critical Care publishes original research, review articles, commentaries, and letters to the editor. The journal covers all aspects of critical care, including anesthesiology, cardiology, surgery, infectious diseases, and neurology. It also publishes articles on the management of severe, life-threatening health problems, such as septic shock, respiratory failure, and traumatic brain injury.
