Maple Glen, Pennsylvania
Maple Glen, Pennsylvania is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is part of the Philadelphia metropolitan area, and is recognized for its suburban atmosphere and high quality of life.
Geography[edit]
Maple Glen is located at 40°10′33″N 75°10′31″W. It is approximately 16 miles north of Philadelphia, and is bordered by the towns of Horsham, Ambler, and Fort Washington. The CDP has a total area of 3.2 square miles, all of it land.
Demographics[edit]
As of the 2010 United States Census, there were 6,742 people, 2,044 households, and 1,696 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 2,107.5 people per square mile. The racial makeup of the CDP was 91.2% White, 1.9% African American, 0.1% Native American, 5.6% Asian, 0.5% from other races, and 0.7% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.8% of the population.
Education[edit]
Maple Glen is served by the Upper Dublin School District. Schools in the district include Maple Glen Elementary School, Sandy Run Middle School, and Upper Dublin High School. The district is known for its high academic standards and strong community support.
Recreation[edit]
Maple Glen offers a variety of recreational opportunities. The town is home to several parks, including Maple Glen Park and Mondauk Common Park, which offer walking trails, sports fields, and playgrounds. The town also has a number of golf courses, including the Talamore Country Club and the Old York Road Country Club.
Transportation[edit]
Maple Glen is conveniently located near several major highways, including Interstate 276 (the Pennsylvania Turnpike) and Route 63 (Welsh Road). The town is also served by the SEPTA regional rail system, providing easy access to Philadelphia and other nearby towns.
