Macedonia (region)

Macedonia is a geographical and historical region located in the southeastern part of Europe, in the Balkan Peninsula. The region covers parts of six modern-day countries: North Macedonia, Greece, Bulgaria, Albania, Kosovo, and Serbia.

Geography

Macedonia is a landlocked region that is characterized by its mountainous terrain. The region is bordered by the Rhodope Mountains to the east, the Pindus Mountains to the west, the Olympus Mountains to the south, and the Shar Mountains to the north.
