SlimFast is a U.S.-based company that produces weight management products, including meal replacement shakes, bars, and snacks. The company was founded in 1977 and is currently owned by KSF Acquisition Corporation.

History

The SlimFast brand was established in 1977 by S. Daniel Abraham. The company's initial product was a meal replacement shake designed to aid in weight loss. In 2000, Unilever acquired SlimFast for $2.3 billion. However, due to declining sales, Unilever sold the company to Kainos Capital in 2014. In 2018, Glanbia, a global nutrition group, purchased SlimFast from Kainos Capital.

Products

SlimFast offers a variety of weight management products. These include meal replacement shakes, snack bars, and other dietary supplements. The company's products are based on a 3-2-1 plan, which consists of three snacks, two meal replacements, and one balanced meal per day.

Criticism and Controversy

Despite its popularity, SlimFast has faced criticism and controversy. Some critics argue that the company's products do not provide a long-term solution to weight loss. Others have raised concerns about the nutritional content of SlimFast's meal replacement shakes and bars.
