History
United Biscuits was formed in 1948 when two Scottish biscuit makers, McVitie & Price and MacFarlane Lang, merged. The company expanded its operations over the years, acquiring various other biscuit and snack manufacturers. In 1960, United Biscuits added the company William Crawford & Sons to its portfolio, followed by the acquisition of McNally's in 1970.

United Biscuits produces a wide range of products, including biscuits, cakes, and snacks. Some of its most popular brands include McVitie's, Jacob's, and Carr's. The company is also known for its Jaffa Cakes, Penguin Biscuits, and Twiglets.

In 2006, the company was sold to a consortium of Blackstone Group and PAI Partners. In 2014, United Biscuits was acquired by Yıldız Holding, a Turkish conglomerate, making it part of the third-largest biscuit company in the world.
