Williams College
Williams College is a private liberal arts college located in Williamstown, Massachusetts, United States. Founded in 1793, it is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in the United States. The college is known for its strong emphasis on undergraduate education and its commitment to the liberal arts.
History
Williams College was established with funds bequeathed by Colonel Ephraim Williams, a soldier and benefactor, who left his estate to support the establishment of a "free school" in the town of West Hoosac, which was later renamed Williamstown in his honor. The college officially opened on October 26, 1793.

Williams College offers a wide range of academic programs and is renowned for its tutorial system, which is modeled after the University of Oxford and University of Cambridge systems.
