Czech Republic is a landlocked country in Central Europe. It is bordered by Austria to the south, Germany to the west, Poland to the northeast, and Slovakia to the southeast. The Czech Republic has a hilly landscape that covers an area of 78,866 square kilometers with a mostly temperate continental climate and oceanic climate.
History
The Czech Republic includes the historical territories of Bohemia and Moravia, and Czech Silesia. The Czech state, formerly known as Bohemia, was formed in the late 9th century as a small duchy around Prague, at that time under the dominance of the powerful Great Moravian Empire.

The Czech Republic has a universal healthcare system, that is based on a compulsory insurance model, with fee-for-service care funded by mandatory employment-related insurance plans.
