Snapple is a brand of tea and juice drinks which is owned by Keurig Dr Pepper. The company was founded in 1972 by Leonard Marsh, Hyman Golden, and Arnold Greenberg in the United States. Snapple is known for its wide variety of flavors and its quirky marketing campaigns.

History

Snapple was originally founded as Unadulterated Food Products in 1972. The company initially focused on selling natural fruit juices to health food stores. The name "Snapple" was derived from a carbonated apple juice product that had a "snappy apple taste." The product was so popular that the company adopted the name Snapple for its entire line of beverages.

In the 1980s, Snapple began to expand its product line to include a variety of teas and juice drinks. The brand gained significant popularity in the 1990s, thanks in part to its unique marketing campaigns and the introduction of the "Snapple Facts" under the bottle caps.

Products

Snapple offers a wide range of beverages, including:

Some of the most popular flavors include:

  • Lemon Tea
  • Peach Tea
  • Raspberry Tea
  • Kiwi Strawberry
  • Mango Madness

Marketing

Snapple is well-known for its innovative and humorous marketing campaigns. One of the most notable aspects of Snapple's marketing is the "Snapple Facts" found under the bottle caps. These facts are often quirky and interesting, adding an element of fun to the beverage experience.

Ownership

Snapple has changed ownership several times over the years. In 1994, it was acquired by Quaker Oats Company, but the acquisition was not successful, and Snapple was sold to Triarc Companies in 1997. In 2000, Snapple was acquired by Cadbury Schweppes, which later spun off its beverage division to form Dr Pepper Snapple Group. In 2018, Dr Pepper Snapple Group merged with Keurig Green Mountain to form Keurig Dr Pepper, which currently owns the Snapple brand.
