Phisoderm is a skin detergent.

Pharmacology[edit]

Phisoderm assists persons who are allergic to soap and Phisohex, a detergent and sudsless cleanser that prevents the spread of infections.

Active ingredients[edit]

Salicylic acid 2%

Uses[edit]

Acne treatment - it is said to not only treat and but also helps prevent acne blemishes on the body and face

Precautions[edit]

It is for external use only.

When using this product

  • avoid contact with eyes. If contact occurs, flush thoroughly with water.
  • skin irritation and dryness is more likely to occur if you use another topical acne medication at the same time. If irritation occurs, only use one topical acne medication at a time.

Use in pregnancy[edit]

If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use.

Children[edit]

Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.

Directions of use[edit]

  • lather and massage onto skin
  • thoroughly cleanse areas prone to breakouts
  • rinse thoroughly

Inactive ingredients[edit]

water, sodium laureth sulfate, disodium cocoamphodiacetate, cocamidopropyl betaine, sodium methyl cocoyl taurate, methyl gluceth-20, glycerin, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, anhydrous citric acid, butylene glycol, chamomilla recutita (matricaria) flower extract, diazolidinyl urea, disodium EDTA, fragrance, hydroxyphenyl propamidobenzoic acid, methylparaben, pentylene glycol, polysorbate 20, propylene glycol, propylparaben, tocopheryl acetate [vitamin E]

History[edit]

In the 1950s both Phisoderm and Phisohex were manufactured by Winthrop Laboratories. Earlier the product was made by Fairchild Brothers & Foster. Phisoderm was developed by Dr. B. Thurber Guild (1886 - 1958), a physician and pharmaceutical manufacturer. Guild practiced medicine in Boston, Massachusetts and was a specialist in allergies.
