Twelve is a natural number following eleven and preceding thirteen. The number twelve holds significance in various fields such as mathematics, religion, and culture.

Mathematics[edit]

In mathematics, twelve is a superior highly composite number, a number with more divisors than any number scaled down from it. It is approximately the integer part of the 12th root of 2. It is a Harshad number and a subfactorial number.

In religion, the number twelve holds a significant place. In Christianity, there are twelve apostles of Jesus. In Judaism, there are twelve tribes of Israel. In Islam, there are twelve Imams in Shia Islam.
