K-Strophanthidin is a cardiac glycoside, a type of compound that has a specific effect on the heart muscle. It is derived from the seeds of the Strophanthus plant, a genus of flowering plants in the family Apocynaceae.

K-Strophanthidin is a steroid-like compound, with a structure that includes a lactone ring and a sugar moiety. The lactone ring is a cyclic ester, while the sugar moiety is a glycoside. The combination of these two components gives K-Strophanthidin its unique properties.
