Dharwad (Kannada: ಧಾರವಾಡ) is a city located in the northwestern part of the Indian state of Karnataka. It is the administrative headquarters of the Dharwad district. Dharwad is known for its rich cultural heritage and educational institutions.

Dharwad has a long and varied history, with evidence of habitation dating back to the Paleolithic era. The city has been ruled by various dynasties, including the Chalukyas, Rashtrakutas, and Vijayanagara Empire.
