Khammam is a city in the Khammam district of the Indian state of Telangana. It serves as the district headquarters and is located about 193 km east of the state capital, Hyderabad.
History
Khammam has a rich historical background, with its name derived from the local temple of Narasimha Swamy, which is situated on a hill called Stambhadri. The city has been a part of various dynasties, including the Kakatiya dynasty, the Qutb Shahi dynasty, and the Asaf Jahi dynasty.
