Distomatosis is a liver disease very much like that of Fasciolosis. It is an infection by parasitic flat worms. The infection can involve the liver, lungs or intestines. Symptoms are determined by the location of the infection. Contamination usually occurs through ingesting contaminated food or water.
Symptoms of Distomatosis
Fever which is the body heat rising to fight infection, is one. A few others are abdominal pain, pain or discomfort in the lower chest, a high level of eosinophils, allergic reactions, diarrhea, an enlarged liver, a cough, difficult breathing, hives, vomiting, nausea, intestinal ulcer, blood insputum, and jaundice.
