Politician

A politician is a person active in party politics, or a person holding or seeking office in government. Politicians propose, support, and create laws or policies that govern the land and, by extension, its people. Broadly speaking, a "politician" can be anyone who seeks to achieve political power in any bureaucratic institution.

Types of Politicians[edit]

Politicians can be classified into several types:

  • Career Politicians: These are individuals who view politics as their main professional occupation.
  • Statesman: This is a respected, skilled and experienced politician who is widely recognized for their public service.
  • Political Leader: A person who is in charge of a political party, often having great influence on the party members.

Roles and Responsibilities[edit]

The roles and responsibilities of a politician can vary widely, depending on the specific office they hold. However, some common roles and responsibilities include:

  • Policy Making: Politicians are responsible for proposing, debating, and voting on new laws and changes to existing laws.
  • Representation: Politicians represent the views and interests of their constituents.
  • Leadership: Politicians often hold leadership roles, guiding and directing the actions of others.
