Timothy Creamer (born November 15, 1959) is a retired United States Army Colonel and a NASA astronaut. He was a flight engineer for Expedition 22/Expedition 23 aboard the International Space Station from December 2009 to June 2010.
Early life and education[edit]
Creamer was born in Fort Huachuca, Arizona, but considers Upper Marlboro, Maryland to be his hometown. He graduated from DeMatha Catholic High School, Hyattsville, Maryland in 1978. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Loyola College, Baltimore, Maryland in 1982, and a Master of Science degree in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1992.
Military career[edit]
Creamer was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army in 1982. He served in various capacities, including as a helicopter pilot, before being selected for the United States Naval Test Pilot School in 1991. He retired from the Army in 2011 with the rank of Colonel.
NASA career[edit]
Creamer was selected by NASA in 1998 as part of Astronaut Group 17. He served in various roles at NASA, including as a CAPCOM for several missions, before being assigned to Expedition 22/Expedition 23 as a flight engineer. He launched aboard Soyuz TMA-17 on December 20, 2009, and returned to Earth on June 2, 2010. During his time on the International Space Station, Creamer was involved in various scientific experiments and maintenance tasks.
Personal life[edit]
Creamer is married and has two children. He enjoys running, scuba diving, and reading in his spare time.
