Jarritos is a popular brand of soft drink in Mexico and among Mexican immigrant populations in the United States. The brand was established in 1950 by Don Francisco "El Güero" Hill and is currently owned by Novamex, a large independent-bottling conglomerate based in Guadalajara, Jalisco, property of the Hill & ac. Co.

History[edit]

The Jarritos brand was founded by Don Francisco "El Güero" Hill in 1950. The word "jarrito" means "little jug" in Spanish and refers to the Mexican tradition of drinking water and other drinks in clay pottery jugs. Produced in Mexico, they are sold throughout the Americas.

Products[edit]

Jarritos offers a variety of flavors, including tamarind, mandarin, lime, grapefruit, guava, pineapple, strawberry, mango, fruit punch, hibiscus, and guanabana. The most popular flavor is the Mandarin.

Production[edit]

The drinks are made with 100% natural sugar, many of the 12 flavors are sourced from actual fruit trees from Mexico such as the lime and guava for their respective flavors.

Distribution[edit]

Jarritos is available in both individual and bulk quantities in grocery stores, restaurants, and online retailers. The brand has a significant presence in Mexico and the United States, and is also available in many other countries.

Cultural Impact[edit]

Jarritos has become a symbol of Mexican culture and is often associated with Mexican food. It is a common sight in Mexican restaurants and is often used in the preparation of Micheladas, a traditional Mexican beer cocktail.
