Calbee Inc. is a major Japanese snack food maker. It was founded on April 30, 1949, and its headquarters are located in Tokyo, Japan. Calbee produces a wide range of snack products including potato chips, corn chips, pretzels, and biscuits.

History[edit]

Calbee was established in Hiroshima in 1949 as Calbee Foods Co., Ltd. by Takashi Matsuo. The company was initially involved in the sale of foodstuffs such as wheat and corn. In 1964, Calbee introduced its first potato chips to the market, which quickly gained popularity and became a staple snack in Japan.

Products[edit]

Calbee's product line includes a variety of snacks. The most popular among them are the potato chips, which come in a variety of flavors such as salt, seaweed, and consommé.
