Tec Laboratories is a privately held corporation that specializes in over-the-counter pharmaceutical products. The company was founded in 1982 and is based in Albany, Oregon, United States. Tec Laboratories is best known for its lice and scabies treatment products, as well as its poison oak and ivy skin protectant.
History[edit]
Tec Laboratories was established in 1982 by chemical engineer Steve Smith. The company initially focused on developing a product to prevent poison oak and poison ivy rashes. This led to the creation of Tecnu, a skin cleanser that removes the plant oil urushiol, which causes the rash. Tecnu has since become a popular product in the United States for treating poison oak and ivy rashes.
In the 1990s, Tec Laboratories expanded its product line to include treatments for head lice and scabies. The company's Licefreee and Nix products are now widely used in schools and homes across the country.
Products[edit]
Tec Laboratories produces a range of over-the-counter pharmaceutical products, including:
- Tecnu - A skin cleanser that removes urushiol, the oil from poison oak and ivy that causes rashes.
- Licefreee - A non-toxic, homeopathic lice treatment that kills lice and their eggs on contact.
- Nix - A lice treatment that kills lice and their eggs, and prevents re-infestation for up to 14 days.

Research and Development[edit]
