Stephen Oppenheimer is a British paediatrician, geneticist, and author. He is a specialist in the use of DNA to track migrations, and his research has been instrumental in understanding the settlement of the Pacific Ocean and the origins of the British people.

Early life and education

Oppenheimer was born in England. He studied Medicine at Oxford University, and later specialized in Paediatrics in Oxford, London, Harvard, and Papua New Guinea.

Career

Oppenheimer has worked in clinical and research paediatrics in the United States, Papua New Guinea, and Malaysia. He has also been a consultant paediatrician in the United Kingdom.

In the 1980s, Oppenheimer began to focus on the use of genetics to track human migrations. His research has been instrumental in understanding the settlement of the Pacific Ocean and the origins of the British people.

Oppenheimer has written several books on the subject, including The Origins of the British and Out of Eden: The Peopling of the World.

Personal life

Oppenheimer lives in England with his wife and children.
