Abington Township is a township in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is one of the oldest communities in Montgomery County, dating back to the 1700s. The township is a suburb of Philadelphia and is part of the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

History

Abington Township was incorporated in 1906, although its history dates back to the 1700s. The area was originally inhabited by the Lenape Native Americans before European settlers arrived.
