Cadbury

Cadbury is a British multinational confectionery company, founded in 1824 by John Cadbury. It is now a subsidiary of the American multinational Mondelez International. Cadbury is known for its wide variety of chocolate products, including Dairy Milk, Roses, and Creme Eggs.

History

John Cadbury started the company in Birmingham, England, in 1824 as a tea and coffee shop. In 1831, Cadbury expanded into cocoa and chocolate manufacturing. In 1878, the company moved its production facilities to a new site in Bournville, which became known as the "Cadbury model village" for its worker housing and amenities.

Throughout the 20th century, Cadbury continued to expand, merging with other confectionery companies and introducing iconic products, such as Dairy Milk and Roses. In 2010, Cadbury was acquired by Kraft Foods, which later became Mondelez International.

Products

Cadbury is known for its wide variety of chocolate products, such as:

  • Dairy Milk - A milk chocolate bar introduced in 1905.
  • Roses - An assortment of chocolates introduced in 1938.
  • Creme Egg - A chocolate egg filled with fondant, available seasonally during the Easter period.
  • Flake - A crumbly chocolate bar introduced in 1920.
  • Fruit and Nut - A chocolate bar containing raisins and almonds, introduced in 1926.

Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability

Cadbury has committed to various initiatives aimed at promoting corporate responsibility and sustainability. These include the Cocoa Life program, which supports cocoa farmers and their communities, and efforts to reduce the company's environmental footprint by minimizing waste and promoting energy efficiency.

Cadbury World
