Rajkot (Gujarati: રાજકોટ) is a city in the state of Gujarat, India. It is the fourth-largest city in Gujarat and serves as the administrative headquarters of the Rajkot district. Rajkot is situated on the banks of the Aji River and Nyari River.

Rajkot was founded by Thakore Sahib Vibhaji Ajoji Jadeja in 1612. It was once the capital of the Saurashtra State before it merged with Bombay State in 1956. The city has a rich history and was an important center during the Indian independence movement.
