Naltrindole is a highly selective delta opioid receptor antagonist used in biomedical research. It has been found to be effective in the study of various types of pain, including neuropathic and inflammatory pain, and has also been used to investigate the role of delta receptors in convulsions and depression.
Pharmacology[edit]
Naltrindole is a competitive antagonist at the delta opioid receptor, with a high degree of selectivity over the mu opioid receptor and kappa opioid receptor. It has been used in the study of various types of pain, including neuropathic and inflammatory pain, and has also been used to investigate the role of delta receptors in convulsions and depression.
Uses[edit]
Naltrindole has been used in biomedical research to investigate the role of the delta opioid receptor in various physiological and pathological processes. It has been used in the study of various types of pain, including neuropathic and inflammatory pain, and has also been used to investigate the role of delta receptors in convulsions and depression.
Side Effects[edit]
As with all opioid receptor antagonists, naltrindole can cause a number of side effects, including nausea, vomiting, and constipation. However, these side effects are generally mild and can be managed with appropriate medical treatment.
