Journal of Translational Medicine is a peer-reviewed medical journal that covers research in translational medicine. The journal was established in 2003 and is published by BioMed Central. The editor-in-chief is Francesco Marincola (Sidra Medical and Research Center).

Scope and indexing

The Journal of Translational Medicine aims to expedite the translation of scientific research from bench to bedside. It covers all areas of translational medicine but also has several specialized sections, each led by a Section Editor.

The journal is abstracted and indexed in PubMed, MEDLINE, CAS, Embase, Scopus, CABI, and the Science Citation Index Expanded. According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2019 impact factor of 4.441.

Open access

As an open access journal, Journal of Translational Medicine allows free access to its content, which is published under a Creative Commons license. Authors are required to pay an article-processing charge.
